My tip of Portugal eliminating Spain did not prove to be correct
The other theory of Sth AM teams going out on a ONE BY ONE basis still holds water – and was proven correct !
So – to follow this theory – for next round I’ll have these permutations of accumulators
Accumulator (A)
Arg to qualify
Brazil to qualify
Uruguay to qualify
Spain to qualify (against Parag)
Accumulator (C)
Arg to qualify
Brazil to qualify
Paraguay to qualify
Ghana to qualify (against Uru)
Accumulator (C)
Arg to qualify
Paraguay to qualify
Uruguay to qualify
Holland to qualify (against Bra)
Will seek to place these accumulators tomorrow
Probably coupled with Serena Williams to win Wimbledon outright – to boost the odds a bit..
It’s about time Messi to score some goals . Hopefully he’ll score the winning one(s) against Germany !
A few more observations
I am getting the feeling that since the Sth American teams ae doing so well, then they;ll go out ona ONE BY ONE BASIS – within each round. For example
last 16 -One Out (Mexico) So uruguay , Arg , BRazil (or Chile out) ; Parag to go thru
last 8 -One Out :Sinc I feel Arg wil do well then the teams to go out will be either (Chile/Bra ) or Paraguay
(most likely Paraguay)
Last 4 – wil be a case of Arg & Bra to go thru (Uruguay to play for 3rd place)
Also my prediction of England to “lose the final ” was completely ‘out of touch’
But my prediction of Port-BRa ending in a draw was spot-on.
Also I have a feeling that Portugal will knock out Spain !
Have Seen Spain today – (against Honduras)
Was not too impressed. I am happy to carry the red book on Spain.
The clincher was the missed penalty by Villa. It had some symbolism in it. Third goal missed – aka losing semi-finalists ?
Elsewhere the war of words between Arg and Bra continues unabated as Fabiano scored by handling the ball twice. Could this hasten even more a final between Arg and Brazil ?
If this is the case, then my red book on Brazil does not look rosy ![]()
I have a liability of more than £1300 on Brazil , Spain , Portugal..
Green on Arg, Holland England , Serbia
Need to balance it on Portugal and Brazil I think ..
If this rivalry continues I would need to redress my book on Brazil . Hoping though that the bad karma incurred with Fabiano’s goal will prevent them to win the Cup (see also the telling French “ball-handling” karmic story)
On a more general observation , the Sth American teams are winning at a canter.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see 3 teams from Sth America reaching the semi finals
Straight Forecast :
1 Argentina
2 Brazil
3 Uruguay
4 Serbia (?)
As I speak a Argentina-Brazil final is priced at 7.4
I would need to place some accumulators including this market (“name the finalists”). Time to look at some other sports too (wimbledon..)
I also have a nagging feeling that Portugal migth nick some points off Brazil. Perhaps even winning the direct encounter ?
My head says “draw” perhaps (both portuguese speaking countries and all that..)
A “lay” of Brazil is on the cards for that match ..
Been reading my previous posts :
##
Some wil be at the end of a good hiding against the Argies. Worth backing them on the handicap for the next set of matches.
##
How prescient was that! :Arg. – S korea 4-1
And , no I haven’t changed my mind : My top three are still : Arg,Hol, Eng
~~~ Symbolic Duels ~~~
There are a few duels happening in parallel
# Duel 1#
world 1
Maradona v Pele
They have been slagging each other off.
Parallel World 1
Would not surprise me to see an
ARGENTINA – BRAZIL final
This will pose a problem for me (in terms of long term Arg position) as Brazil have been beating Arg. on regular basis in recent years.
# Duel 2#
world 2
England – Germany – courtesy of Kaiser Beckenbauer slagging off England
Parallel World 2
Would not surprise me to see an
ENGLAND – GERMANY match and Eng eliminating Germany !
This looks most likelly as England have just drawn against Algeria.
Which reminds me to put more money on England . England were third in the betting 10 days ago. They have drifted to 11/1 but have the same number of points as all other teams in the group !.
Overreaction to my mind..
# Duel 3#
world 3
“Maverick energy” versus “Control freaks energy”
Parallel World 3
Would not surprise me to see a
MAVERICK_TEAM v CONTROL_FREAK_TEAM match and MAVERICK_TEAM beating CONTROL_FREAK_TEAM !
(after CONTROL FREAK TEAM leading at HALF TIME !)
In plain English – for those not used with the symbolic/alchemical language :
I predict an Argentina-England final !
England would lead at half time but Argentina would end up victorious !
Market for Arg-Eng final is 17/1 at Betfair . Grab it while you can !
You heard it here
First ,
Folks !
Fulcanelli
We have seen all the teams now and in theory we’ve seen the W Cup winner too.
For a start I cannot see any surprises in terms the winner coming outside of the frist 8 teams in the odds order.
I can firstly exclude Italy and France. They’re simply not at the races.
The price of Germany has dropped dramatically but I will not put any money on them. They may have peaked too early and Australians weren’t that good to be fair.
Brazil failed to impress me too much and Spain managed to sow the seeeds of doubt obviously.
Almost by process of elimination I am left with Holland , Argentina and to a lesser extend England
Will try to do some permutation with all of those three teams in the ouright winner market
A few thoughts about the teams that had played during the weekend
Argentina
they had created plenty of chances against Nigeria.
Some wil be at the end of a good hiding against the Argies. Worth backing them on the handicap for the next set of matches. Perhaps a goal fest against Greece (?)
Serbia
They looked OK for most of the time. But they self destructed. Still have the potential to go through
Ghana
Ok ; but not much than OK
England
They should improve. Potential is there
Germany
Strongest contender thus far; those who took 14/1 can pat themselves on the shoulder.
However the Australians weren’t good.
PS
my tip with “unders” proved to be correct : majority of matches had been UNDER 2.5 goals
Following on yesterday’s hunch that England might lose the final .
Here is some money where my mouth is :
£100.00 £700.00
Ref: matched:18:01 12-Jun-10
Hoping to lay it off at half time in the final ..
I also think that S Korea will qualify from their group :
Back to lay bet :
South Korea 220 £5.00 £1,095.00
~~~
England – Usa match
Some fun bets to start with .
With this new “FUNNY FOOTBALL” Lampard might score some unusual long distance goals ..
Current Odds bets Order by Matched Date

My main intention is to bet OVER 1.5 Goals though
Perhaps durtching 2-1 3-0 to England for small stakes
As an anniversary kind of activity , I will try to post my thoughts with regards to the
World Cup currently staged in S Africa.
There are now almost 4 years since I’d started this on/off blog and I’m trying to get into the blogging mood once a gain .
Have managed to nick £45 on the CS 0-0 between France and Uruguay . That was easy considering that neither team wanted to lose.
I expect this pattern to continue for the next few days.
I have some novelty bets in mind – like:
dutch every game 0-0 & 1-1
Or place multiples with UNDER(2.5) on all games on a particular day.
In as much as the teams themselves, I can tell for sure that France do not want to win . They aren’t at the races – pure and simple (a nagging irish karma perhaps ?).
I am still clinging on the idea of Holland doing well but I have now this ‘fixed idea ‘ that England will lose the final.
Hence the “urge” to bet on the “name the finalists” market :
-
Argentina – England
Holland – England ( although the normal path does not suggest that)
Spain – England
And the predicted score in the final would be 2-0 or 2-1 ( ie England losing 2-0 or 2-1)
(might throw in “Argentina – Holland” – as a repeat of the ’78 final)
There are many Excel sheets on the net that let you calculate the path in advance
One of the better ones is this one :
http://hinx.quarkphysics.ca/
It uses soem ratings as well. not sure if they are ELO ratings or not .
You can see the ELO ratings for the WCup here :
http://www.eloratings.net/world_cup.html
Looks like they are going to update the ratings after each match.
Prediction for Eng – USA
1-1 or 2-0 to England..
Looks like my Double Dutch Master accumulator did not fare that well (nor that long..)
Jan Vermeer faild to win the Derby.
More worryngly, Robben from the dutch squad could miss the entire tourney ..
I’d also had the aussie girl (Stosur) to win the Roland Garros final but she got beaten by the italian lady : Schiavone.
Time to re assess my World Cup strategy I think.
I have started to get into a “Dutch ” mood recently .
Basically I a have a feeling that Jan Vermeer (famous Dutch painter) will win the Derby and that Holland will win the World Cup !
Hence the placement of some Dutch-themed accumulators :
